After debuting a short teaser for the upcoming series Preacher, AMC unveiled a first full-look at the network’s latest comic book adaptation, in which Dominic Cooper’s titular character doesn’t pull any punches. Even if those punches break an arm or two.

The new trailer offers a look at Jesse Custer (Cooper) being asked by a young boy to hurt the child’s father. And while Custer appears to be no stranger to violence, as the rest of the trailer shows, he knows that violence escalates until it makes “nothing much at all.”

Preacher is adapted from the Garth Ennis and Steve DIllon comic series focusing on Custer, a Texas clergyman who merges with a supernatural being named Genesis. Along for the ride are his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire with a drinking problem named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

The series also has some star power behind the camera, as Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are executive producing the series, while Breaking Bad‘s Sam Caitlin will act as executive producer and showrunner. Caitlin wrote the premiere, which is set to air in mid-2016. AMC ordered Preacher to series earlier this year, while Seth Rogen teased the pilot’s filming in the spring.
