Daniel Craig: 'Slash my wrists' comments about future Bond movies clarified

Last month, Daniel Craig faced some controversy when he was asked about playing James Bond again in another movie. “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” he replied. “No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”

Appearing on the Today show on Thursday, the Spectre star clarified his comments, saying that he didn’t express his feelings on the subject very “eloquently.”

“If you’re 200 yards from the end of a marathon, and someone comes running up to you and says, ‘Are you going to run another marathon?’ there’s two words you use, and not on a morning show,” Craig told Matt Lauer. “So that’s really what that was about. And I’ve had massive amounts of fun making this film. Probably more fun on this film than I have on all the others put together.”

Craig added that he may end up returning for another Bond installment: He signed a five-film contract with Eon Productions, and Spectre is the fourth film he’s made as 007. “The simple answer at the moment is I don’t want to think about it,” Craig said of continuing on as Bond. “I just don’t want to think about it. I want to think about other things. I want to go home.”
