Harrison Ford talks Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Indiana Jones 5

It’s not enough to just shoot first — Han Solo (well, Harrison Ford, really) has seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens before the rest of us.

The actor stopped by ABC’s Good Morning America on Tuesday, where he revealed he’s already seen the film ahead of its Dec. 18 release.

His spoiler-free review? “It was great,” Ford said of watching the franchise back on the big screen again. “It’s a wonderful movie, it’s got great production values. It’s a real big movie and I was delighted to see it.”

The actor has had harsh words for his rogue smuggler character over the years, but — as he discussed in his recent EW interview — he’s softened to Han Solo in the years since Return of the Jedi. On GMA, he revealed what convinced him to play the character again.

“A really good script, the opportunity to work with J.J. [Abrams], who I’ve admired, and it just seemed like a good idea,” he explained, adding that Solo has “a more complex story now, a little bit more of an emotional context than perhaps there was before.” (But, he adds, he’s “still the same guy.”)

The interview also touched on another of Ford’s most famous characters: Indiana Jones. When asked if a fifth Indy film is happening, he said, “I’d love to do another Indiana Jones and work with Steven [Spielberg] again — if we get a script, I’d love to do it.”
