SXSW 2016: Don Cheadle, Gale Anne Hurd join conference lineup

Miles Ahead director-star Don Cheadle, The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd, and Pee-wee’s Big Holiday producer Judd Apatow are among the latest additions to the South by Southwest Film Festival’s conference lineup, organizers announced Tuesday.

Hurd, Nelson George (The Get Down), and Joe Swanberg (Digging for Fire) will serve as keynote speakers, while Cheadle, Joel Edgerton, Gaby Hoffmann, Joe Berlinger, Barbara Kopple, Andrew Bujalski, David Lowery, Louis Black, and Leonard Maltin will participate in featured conversations.

Apatow, who brought Trainwreck to SXSW with Amy Schumer last year, will return with a stand-up comedy showcase following the world premiere of Pee-wee’s Big Holiday.

Previously announced speakers include J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Andrew Jarecki (The Jinx), Anthony Bourdain (Parts Unknown), and Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer (Broad City).

SXSW Film opens March 11 with Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some and runs through March 19.
