Louis C.K. comes to Portlandia, is not amused by Fred and Carrie

In late January, Louis C.K. returned to your television — or at least to your computer — with the debut of Horace and Pete, a weekly web series headlined by the comedian and Steve Buscemi.

Now, in early March, here you are, about to receive another hit of the creator/star of Louie on the small screen (but not in Louie; he doesn’t know when it’s coming back; FX doesn’t know), and this one will involve a trip to the Pacific Northwest.

On Thursday’s episode of Portlandia (10 p.m., IFC), C.K. will guest-star as himself — or at least a very unamused version of himself. Fred (Fred Armisen) and Carrie (Carrie Brownstein) try to attend C.K.’s stand-up gig, but at the last second, it is announced that that the comedian won’t be able to perform that night due to a “family emergency.” However, Fred and Carrie’s landlord (played by Horace and Pete star and celery salesman Steve Buscemi) opines that C.K. may not be telling the truth, something the duo confirm when they run into him at a coffee shop and blackmail him into having dinner with them. What happens next? Well, they don’t grasp the concept that comedians are human beings capable of making real connections, Fred tries to impress with an uninspired riff on why he hates waiters, and you press play on this exclusive scene from the episode.
