Ben Carson dropped out of the Republican presidential race Friday, so The Daily Show devoted a segment to giving the retired neurosurgeon a special send-off: After host Trevor Noah mocked Carson’s sluggish announcement — “He can’t even muster any energy when he’s saying he’s dropping out of the race” — correspondent Roy Wood Jr. attempted to defend Carson and then introduced a video of fellow correspondent Jessica Williams singing a revised version of Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You.”

“The old Ben Carson is gone and he’s never coming back. But the man deserves a proper goodbye,” Wood said. “Dr. Ben Carson, while you may never be welcome at a black barbershop, one thing is for sure: If I ever become a conjoined twin, I want you to do the surgery. I’ll miss you, Dr. Ben Carson.”

The “I’ll Be Missing You” remix went on to further poke fun at Carson’s sleepiness by replacing “every breath you take” with “every nap you take.” Watch the segment below, and see The Daily Show when it airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
