Containment: Chris Wood, David Gyasi in new photos

What would you do if a deadly virus broke out in your city? That’s the question that everyone on Containment is forced to answer within minutes of its first episode.

The new show from Vampire Diaries/Originals showrunner Julie Plec follows a handful of individuals as they deal with an outbreak in Atlanta, Georgia. From the cops who are forced to protect those they can — and let go of those they can’t — to the pregnant 18-year-old trapped inside the cordon, each character offers a different side to the collective story of a city-wide life-or-death situation.

And yet, a handful of new exclusive photos of the series prove that fear and panic aren’t the only things that will prevail. After all, where human connection is involved, surely there’s going to be a little romance, right?

Containment premieres on Tuesday, April 19 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
