Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Jacob Tremblay names new puppy Rey

The votes are in and Jacob Tremblay has settled on a name for his new puppy. Meet the adorable Rey Tremblay.

The 9-year-old Room star enlisted his fans to help name the pooch on Thursday, and he decided to honor Daisy Ridley‘s Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“Thank you for all your awesome suggestions,” Tremblay wrote on social media. “Please say hello to #ReyTremblay!!!” See photos of the pup below.

Like many 9-year-olds, Tremblay loves his Star Wars. Upon winning his Critics Choice Award, he told the crowd he’d place it on his shelf next to his Millennium Falcon. Later, he had an impromptu lightsaber match with Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in The Force Awakens, and he added Ridley to his collection of celebrity selfies.

He wrote at the time, “Met #Rey, she is awesome, but [Daisy Ridley] is even cooler.”

UPDATE: Tremblay posted a video Monday starring his adorable new puppy. “Playing with Rey,” he wrote, adding the hashtags #NationalPetDay #ReyTremblay, and #sheisthecutest.
