Radiohead: New album release date June, says manager

An associate of the band teased details about anticipated follow-up to 'King of Limbs'

Confusing information about Radiohead’s reported forthcoming album has surfaced in recent weeks.

Brian Message, who identified himself as the band’s manager, said during a Thursday speaking event in London that the group’s ninth studio album is scheduled to be released in June, and that it’s “like nothing you’ve ever heard,�� The Guardian reports. But after the comments made the rounds on the internet, a rep for the band issued a statement to EW, distancing Radiohead from Message:

At an industry event in London last night Brian Message was asked about new Radiohead music. Quotes attributed to him and taken from his talk have subsequently appeared, describing him as Radiohead’s manager. Brian Message is not Radiohead’s manager – he is a partner in Courtyard Management but plays no operational role, and therefore any quotes from last night’s event, or any supposition arising from them, should not be attributed to Radiohead’s management or be seen as official quotes on behalf of the group.

Radiohead are managed by Chris Hufford and Bryce Edge at Courtyard Management.

No exact date or title for Radiohead’s follow-up to The King of Limbs has been pegged yet.

While the release date is up in the air, Message did share some details about the vibe of the new music. “[The album] will be like nothing you’ve ever heard,” Message reportedly said.

The experimental English rockers added a slew of festival dates in recent weeks, tapped to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco.

Radiohead begins touring May 20 in Amsterdam and makes its first United States appearance July 26 in New York.
