A day before the release of their eleventh studio album The Getaway, Red Hot Chili Peppers shared the music video for the LP’s lead single “Dark Necessities.” Olivia Wilde directed the clip, which is currently streaming exclusively on the band’s Facebook page.

The video shows the Peppers rocking out and goofing off indoors as longboarders — Carmen Shafer, Amanda Caloia, Amanda Powell, and Noelle Mulligan — skate through Los Angeles’ urban landscape. Wilde made her directorial debut earlier this year when she helmed the music video for “No Love Like Yours” by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes.

Besides “Dark Necessities,” Red Hot Chili Peppers have already shared “We Turn Red” and The Getaway‘s title track. The album is their first since 2011’s I’m With You. To promote the album, the Peppers have appeared on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke and are the subjects of a limited-run SiriusXM station hosted by longtime fan Chris Rock.

In the new issue of EW, singer Anthony Kiedis said the alt-rock icons “were quite hell-bent on doing something different this time around — trying to evolve our game a little bit and force ourselves into unknown territory.” That led them to acclaimed producer Danger Mouse (Beck, The Black Keys). “He was not afraid to tell us when something wasn’t as great as he thought it could be,” Kiedis said. “It was one of those things where the coach pushes you that extra mile and you finally break your record.”
