Amber Tamblyn slams naked Trump statues: 'Body shaming is never okay'

Amber Tamblyn wasn’t fond of the naked Donald Trump statues that popped up across America last week.

The Two and a Half Men actress aired her outrage over the sculptures via Facebook on Sunday, sharing a photo of one of the statues covered by a sign reading, “Shame me for my behavior, not my body.”

“Body shaming is never okay, even when it comes to Trump,” she wrote. “These statues aren’t art: They are a lazy, unoriginal concept, stolen mind you, from Illma Gore’s painting which already made this exact same point earlier this year. This is wholly unoriginal and uncreative.”

Tamblyn’s statement references a nude painting of Trump by Los Angeles artist Illma Gore that went viral last February. Borrowing title from Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” the portrait depicts the Republican presidential nominee with under-endowed genitals, much like the five statues that hit New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Cleveland, and Seattle on Thursday. The latter work, dubbed “The Emperor Has No B—-,” was created by an art collective called Indecline.
