No, internet, Richard Dreyfuss is alive and isn’t Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ father.

When Louis-Dreyfus took the stage to accept the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her HBO hit Veep, she thanked her father Gérard Louis-Dreyfus, who died on Friday. However, it seems as though some people thought her father was veteran actor Richard Dreyfuss, who quickly took to Twitter to clear up the confusion.

“I’m actually not Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ father. But I really appreciate all the concerned tweets,” tweeted Dreyfuss on Sunday night during the show.

In her emotional speech, Louis-Dreyfus commented on her dad’s love for her series, saying, “I’m so glad he liked Veep because his opinion was the one that really mattered.”
