Corey Feldman Today show: Miley Cyrus defends actor on social media

Miley Cyrus is the latest celebrity to defend Corey Feldman, whose Sept. 16 performance on the Today show went viral — and not in a positive way.

“Corey – I hope you see this … Haters gonna Hate! Lovers always gonna Love!” Cyrus wrote on Twitter and Instagram. “Thank you and your angels for sharing your music with us! Please enjoy life and continue to make art!” She then commended Feldman’s “courage” and encouraged him to “ignore (even though it can be hard) the hurtful comments by uninspired people.”

The former Goonies star received extreme backlash on social media after performing “Go 4 It” on the morning show. Feldman said in a since-deleted Facebook post the response has been “really painful,” adding, “we put ourselves out there and did the best we could. And, like, I’ve never had such mean things said about me.”
