Blake Jenner shares his teenage diary

All Crops: Blake Jenner (Edge of Seventeen) on Entertainment Weekly: The Show Screengrab

Blake Jenner’s teenage self had a few expectations for his future.

However, as his recent appearance on Entertainment Weekly: The Show, in which he reads excerpts from his high school diary (above), reveals, not a lot of the Edge of Seventeen actor’s hopes (or predictions) have come true.

“Someday I’ll be the most famous person in the world with the last name ‘Jenner.’ I mean, you never hear the last name ‘Jenner,’ right?” he reads from an entry regarding his initial thoughts as he got into acting. In another one, he bemoans his Social Studies class’ focus on Alexander Hamilton. “Why would a guy who’s interested in theater have to know about Alexander Hamilton? I would bet all the money in the world that the two will never link up. Waste of time!”

Lucky for Jenner there was one thing he did get right. “Just watched Kyra Sedgwick in a gripping episode of the The Closer. She’s a powerhouse! Too bad I’ll never get to act with her, Hailee Steinfeld, and Woody Harrelson in a teen comedy called The Edge of Seventeen…”

In the film, currently in theaters, Jenner plays the older, more popular brother of the protagonist, Nadine (played by Steinfeld), who begins dating her best friend. Their mom is played by Sedgwick.
