Bob Saget’s Full House costars and loved ones are remembering the actor on what would have been his 68th birthday.
On Friday, a number of Saget’s friends and family posted touching tributes to the actor, who died on Jan. 9, 2022, after experiencing head trauma in a hotel room.
Jodie Sweetin, who played Saget’s on-screen daughter Stephanie on Full House, posted a video with numerous photos of herself with the actor and their other costars. “Happy Birthday, @bobsaget,” she wrote. “There’s not a day I don’t think of you ❤️❤️”
Candace Cameron Bure, who played eldest Tanner daughter D.J. on the sitcom, posted a similar video with the caption, “Happy birthday Bob ❤️❤️❤️🕊️Love you.” Bure’s video first shows photos of herself and Saget in chronological order from roughly 2013 to 2022, then ends with a few older photos that look like they’re from the era of Full House’s original run.
Dave Coulier, who portrayed family friend Joey Gladstone on the series, shared his own montage of personal photos of his late costar, soundtracked by the Potash Twins’ “Outro,” which features a spoken word performance by Saget. “Today would have been my brother, Bobs birthday,” he wrote. “Missing him. ❤️❤️”
Andrea Barber, who played the Tanners’ neighbor Kimmy Gibbler, also got in on the action with a video of photos featuring Saget and the Full House cast. “Happy heavenly birthday, Bob,” she said in her caption. “Love you.”
Singer John Mayer, who was close friends with Saget, shared a selfie of him with the actor alongside a heartfelt message.
“I miss you the most when I’m exhausted and I just want to talk to my friend,” he said. “I missed you when this magician was performing at this party I was at, and he was just okay, and I knew you’d have interjected with insanely funny one-liners, even if I couldn’t imagine what you would have said. I just miss you. We all miss you. Death may be out of our control, but remembrance is our act of defiance. And we will never forget you. Love you Bob. Happy Birthday.”
Kelly Rizzo, who was married to Saget from 2018 until his death, posted a video of Saget receiving a slice of cake with a massive sparkler candle from a previous birthday.
“Forever celebrated, forever loved, forever remembered, forever in all of our hearts,” she wrote. “Happy Birthday. Forever grateful for these memories, and this last birthday celebration together. Forever happy I got to see a smile on his face and happiness in his eyes. Look at how happy he was.”
Rizzo also shared a sweet anecdote about the night that the video was taken: “I will tell you a cute story about this night. See the little band-aid on his arm? During dinner he got a mosquito bite and kept scratching it until it bled… so he went up to the front desk and like four different restaurant workers frantically got him a Band-Aid and they all put the Band-Aid on him as if they were performing surgery-and it caused such a scene- and he came back to the table with this little Band-Aid and we both laughed because it was so silly.”
