Isabella Strahan jokes about her 'expensive' brain amid cancer treatment

"What's the most expensive thing you're wearing?"

Salma Hayek would approve.

Isabella Strahan remixed a popular audio on TikTok that made light of her brain tumor treatment. The 19-year-old daughter of TV anchor Michael Strahan used audio of Hayek's viral response to being asked about the most expensive thing she was wearing while at the 2023 Time 100 Gala ("probably my brain") alongside a photo of her post-surgery, wearing a head bandage.

Costs vary based on treatment, cancer stage, and treatment, location, but surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy can cost more than $200,000, per American Life Fund.

Strahan, who has been regularly documenting her treatment journey on her YouTube channel, first publicly revealed her medulloblastoma diagnosis in January, sitting down with her father and his colleague Robin Roberts for an emotional interview on Good Morning America. She shared at the time that she underwent emergency surgery in October 2023 to treat a four-centimeter tumor that grew in the back of her brain.

“She’s always been strong, and this is something that is so personal,” her father Michael said in the segment. "I’m extremely proud."

The young Strahan shared in a video update last week that she recently underwent her third round of chemo, adding that she's been doing well and not in much pain. She said she still had another round to go, adding of the anxiety, "I just wait around for the next time I get chemo. And I'm kind of scared, like, once I'm done, how am I gonna go back to normal life? Because I feel like there's always gonna be another treatment or something that I have to do. I don't know. But that's a later problem."
