Jurassic World 2: Chris Pratt teases a 'darker' and 'scarier' sequel

Hold on to your butts!

Hold on to your butts! While details on Jurassic World 2 are still scarce, Chris Pratt teased a "darker" and "scarier" story for the 2018 sequel.

While promoting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the actor praised director J.A. Bayona in an interview with ScreenRant. "Do you know that filmmaker? He's a remarkable filmmaker. If you haven't seen The Impossible or A Monster Calls, I mean he's really visually masterful," he said.

Regarding the sequel, Pratt teased, "Deep emotions and suspense. I think it's going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn't have imagined."

It's hard to tell what he means by "scarier," since plot details are still under wraps. After the release of the first film, Jurassic World helmer Colin Trevorrow hinted at a story about something B.D. Wong's Dr. Wu said about how "We're not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur."

Pratt will return for Jurassic World 2 as raptor expert Owen with Bryce Dallas Howard and newcomers like Ted Levine, Justice Smith, and Geraldine Chaplin. Bayona released a first look image from the film with a mysterious young girl staring down dinosaur skeletons, while Trevorrow, who's producing the sequel, more recently released an image of dinosaur eggs on social media.

Jurassic World 2 is scheduled for theaters on June 22, 2018.
