Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, more returning to present

Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Alicia Vikander, and Mark Rylance can’t get enough of Hollywood’s biggest night.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced Wednesday all four performers will present a new set of Oscars to this year’s winners, returning to the stage upon which they claimed their first Academy Award statuettes last year.

Traditionally, throughout Oscar history, winners from the previous year’s male acting categories have presented Oscars to the following year’s female victors (and vice versa). At the Oscars’ 2016 edition, DiCaprio won his first Oscar for leading the cast of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 2015 drama The Revenant after five previous nominations (including one for best picture as a producer), while Larson triumphed for her portrayal of a young, abducted mother in Lenny Abrahamson’s Room.

Vikander, set to star as Lara Croft in the planned Tomb Raider reboot, won the best supporting actress title opposite Eddie Redmayne in Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl, and Rylance, a dark horse contender, pulled off a surprise victory for his supporting turn in Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies.

The 2017 Academy Awards show, produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd, will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Sunday, Feb. 26 at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. ABC will broadcast the event beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
