Danai Gurira, Michael B. Jordan, more join 2019 Oscars as presenters

The Academy is making room for 12 more on its already robust list of 2019 Oscar presenters.

The group announced Tuesday that stars from some of the year’s biggest films — including Eighth Grade breakout Elsie Fisher, Black Panther stars Danai Gurira and Michael B. Jordan, Crazy Rich Asians actress Michelle Yeoh, If Beale Street Could Talk‘s Brian Tyree Henry, and Vice actor Tyler Perry — will take the stage to present Oscar statuettes across Sunday’s ceremony alongside comedian John Mulaney, musician Pharrell Williams, Krysten Ritter, Paul Rudd, Michael Keaton, and Helen Mirren.

Previously announced presenters include Jennifer Lopez, Awkwafina, Chris Evans, Melissa McCarthy, Jason Momoa, Laura Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, and more.

The Academy will also welcome celebrities from outside the film world — namely tennis icon Serena Williams, among seven other reported celebrities — to present the nominees for Best Picture.

“We are excited to welcome these amazing artists and filmmakers to the show,” said show producers Donna Gigliotti and Glenn Weiss. “They bring excitement, momentum, and elements of surprise to this year’s Oscars.”
