Watch Timothée Chalamet crash Hugh Grant's Tonight Show interview in fake mustache disguise

The man, who definitely wasn't the "Wonka" actor, asked Grant where Chalamet ranked amongst his costars.

Hugh Grant’s recent Tonight Show interview was crashed by a mustached man who definitely wasn’t his Wonka costar Timothée Chalamet in disguise.

The Notting Hill actor, who plays an Oompa Loompa in the upcoming Paul King-directed film, sat down with host Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday to discuss his experience playing a whole roster of self-described “weirdos, freaks, [and] perverts” and how he ended up becoming a fan of K-Pop girl group Blackpink,

Following a brief lull in their conversation, however, Fallon suddenly revealed that he’d “run out of questions” to ask and turned it over to the audience for help. In response, an undercover Chalamet sporting a brown leather jacket, thick fake mustache, and a Love Actually baseball cap quickly stepped up with a very important question.

“Hey, Hugh, big fan, happy to see you,” Not Chalamet said as the crowd recognized him and began to cheer. “Quick question. Big fan, big fan. You’ve worked with some incredible actors in your career… I was just curious, where does Timothée Chalamet rank on that list?”

As it turns out, surprisingly low. “I’m assuming this is not part of the show that’s going to be broadcast, so I’ll tell you the truth,” Grant joked. “To be honest, I didn’t like him. None of us did.”

Grant couldn’t exactly pinpoint why Chalamet irked him so much. "I don’t know what it is — it’s something weird about that whole French Timothée Chalamet,” he said, making a show of exaggeratedly pronouncing his costar’s name. “Je suis français. Do you like me-eh?”

Visibly attempting to hold back his laughter, Not Chalamet could only nod and repeat, “for sure,” over and over again in response to Grant’s verbal takedown. He then made a quick exit, waving and adding, “I’ll catch you later!”

“Bye sir,” Fallon said as Grant began to laugh. “Take care.”
