2017 is proving to be a pretty transformative year for MTV. First, the MTV Movie Awards were renamed the MTV Movie & TV Awards, to give TV a shot at the golden popcorn. Now comes the announcement of the MTV Movie & TV Awards Festival.

The festival, which will host fans in the thousands, will take place just before the awards ceremony on the grounds of Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium. All Time Low, Zara Larsson, and Bea Miller will be headlining the free party. They won’t be the only guests gracing the stage though: Red carpet interviews will take place on the main stage, where the fans can also view exclusive sneak peeks from hit shows and movies. Attendees will also be able to watch the red carpet arrivals and take advantage of plenty of drinks, food, games, and more fun, including the chance to win prizes like tickets to the ceremony later that evening.

The award categories got a makeover of their own this year. Instead of separate categories for male and female actors, there are now gender-neutral categories to honor acting: Best Actor in a Movie, and Best Actor in a Show. Other categories which have been modified or added to the roster are Best Fight, which is now Best Fight the System — as a nod to the current sociopolitical atmosphere — as well as Best American Story, Best Host, Tearjerker, Best Reality Competition, and Next Generation. While more categories, performers, and presenters will be unveiled as the ceremony gets closer, fans can vote for those already announced here now.

The MTV Movie & TV Awards Festival will take place Sunday, May 7 from 2-5 p.m. PT. Tickets are available here, on a first come, first served basis. The festival is available for livestreaming here, and will also air on MTV Live.

The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air on Sunday, May 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
