James Corden burns Jennifer Hudson with brutal Beyoncé diss on 'Drop the Mic'

While we wait for TBS to launch its own Drop the Mic series with Method Man and Hailey Baldwin, James Corden continues to light it up on The Late Late Show. His latest opponent on the rap battle segment was Jennifer Hudson, who reminded the variety show maven, “I’m a Dreamgirl, boy, I make your nightmares fatal.”

Because he had home turf advantage, as part of a series of episodes shot in the U.K., Corden thought he had this in the bag. “You remember J, she got famous in the States on American Idol for coming in seventh place,” he burned. Corden continued to throw shade with, “You won an Oscar for Dreamgirls, I get it. No one remembers you in that film because Beyoncé’s in it.”

Then it was Hudson’s turn. “I won an Oscar, a Grammy — hell, I won at life,” she said, reminding him, “I can sing, act, dance, but you still look like you’re tryin’, more fake than a vape and just as unsatisfying.”

The battle heated up further as Corden called Hudson “the worst part of Sex and the City” and admitted, “The truth is I’m not a fan. I’m into Kelly Clarkson.” But the Hairspray Live! singer-actor had a final show-stopping trick up her sleeve.

“You could get a lot more done not chasing YouTube views. Man, I sing my own songs while you hangin’ with Bieber. Between me and you, I don’t know, who’s the biggest diva?” she spit. “You think you can beat me? I’m so confused. How?” Hudson then capped off “Drop the Mic” by belting her victory amid audience applause.

“This is a once in a life time thing yal,” Hudson wrote on Instagram. “He came for me !!! U call , I answer !!”
