Watch Feud star Jackie Hoffman pull a Joan Crawford

When Joan Crawford was famously snubbed at the 1963 Academy Awards for her work in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? she conspired to instead win the award for Pettiest of Them All: To steal the spotlight from her costar (and Oscar nominee) Bette Davis, Crawford called up every other nominee in the category and asked if she could accept the award on their behalf, including eventual winner Anne Bancroft.

Emmy-nominated Feud: Bette and Joan actress Jackie Hoffman is also gunning for the Pettiest of Them All award, but she actually is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for her performance as Mamacita.

Up against Laura Dern (Big Little Lies), Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies), Regina King (American Crime), and Michelle Pfeiffer (Wizard of Lies), Hoffman decided to give each of them a call in the video above, congratulating Pfeiffer’s performance in Grease 2 and telling Woodley she would accept the award on her behalf, “unless, of course, you big little lose.

Feud: Bette and Joan is up for 18 awards at the upcoming 2017 Emmy Awards. You can watch the video from Variety above.
