Seth Meyers creates Late Night version of Curb with Larry David

Larry David makes a pretty, pretty, pretty bad Late Night writer.

In a sketch from Tuesday’s show, the Curb Your Enthusiasm creator and star’s search for a new job brings him into Seth Meyers’ writers’ room, where things got off to a rocky start when the host attempted to explain how the gatherings go.

“I think I know how a pitch meetings works,” David sarcastically laughed. “You know, I’ve worked on television shows before.”

What proceeded was peak-David, who proved to have issues with learning people’s names, vertical chairs, his new co-workers’ ideas, and the timing of his boss’ daily tea. The final straw was Meyers’ reaction to David’s pitch of a segment predictably called “I Don’t Want to Do That,” which led to a Curb-style face-off between the duo.

Curb Your Enthusiasm makes its long-awaited return Sunday at 10 p.m. ET on HBO. Late Night airs weeknights on NBC at 12:35 a.m. ET.
