Handmaid's Tale season 2 teaser: No more miss nice girl

Elisabeth Moss is done playing by the rules of men. On Thursday, which marked International Women’s Day, Hulu debuted a new teaser for The Handmaid’s Tale season 2. With it comes everything about this dystopian world that makes you go, “Seriously? What the actual f—?”

“Wear the red dress, wear the wings, shut your mouth, be a good girl, roll over and spread your legs, ‘yes, ma’am,’ ‘may the Lord open,'” Moss, in her Emmy-winning role of Offred, recites. But no more.

The teaser also features flashes of various character returns, including Samira Wiley as Moira, Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, and Alexis Bledel as Ofglen. Season 2 of the show that seemed to snatch every major drama award for television will focus on Offred’s pregnancy and the character’s struggle to secure a future for her child away from the horrors of Gilead.

“There’s a lot of horror and cruelty and dread in this situation, but there’s also a lot of absurdity,” executive producer Bruce Miller had said. “I feel like June is always this close to turning to the camera and being, like, ‘What the actual f—.’”

With the teaser also comes a new poster, featuring an Offred ready to burn down the system.
