After becoming the first woman of color to win an Emmy for writing on a comedy series, MTV is honoring the Master of None writer and The Chi creator with its Trailblazer Award at the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
"Lena is shaking up Hollywood and breaking cultural boundaries through her innovative and authentic storytelling," MTV, VH1, and Logo General Manager Amy Doyle said in a statement. "Her unwavering passion for equality and inclusion make her the perfect recipient for this year's Trailblazer Award."

Black Panther and Stranger Things lead the nominations. The network previously announced that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Avengers: Infinity War star Chris Pratt will receive the Generation Award.
