Stefan Salvatore might have died the hero, but could we live long enough to see Paul Wesley become the villain?

EW has confirmed that the former Vampire Diaries star has booked his next TV role on CBS All Access' Tell Me a Story. Wesley joins The Originals‘ Danielle Campbell, as well as Billy Magnussen and Kim Cattrall in the series from TVD co-creator Kevin Williamson.

According to Deadline, which first reported the casting, Tell Me a Story will reimagine a number of beloved fairy tales as a psychological thriller. Specifically, season 1 will interweave The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel into "an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge, and murder."

As for Wesley, he joins the cast in the lead role of Eddie, a bartender, low-level drug dealer, and part-time thief who struggles with his own problems with drugs and alcohol.

Williamson will executive produce the series, which was given a straight-to-series order on CBS All Access.
