Description
Texture! I like how the netting at the bottom is heavily textured as well as the netting at the top. Sandwiched in between is a coil of rope that has a different texture altogether.

Nikolyn McDonald thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to say WHY you liked the image. Very generous of you.

So well composed, Carol. I love the strong diagonals and the triangles, from quite regular to rough. Excellent textures, too, of cours.

This is a terrific shot Carol. I love the textures and lines. Excellent composition. I know exactly what you mean about people wondering what you see in what you are shooting. Once I was shooting some old rusty hardware on a building in New Orleans and before long I had 5 people standing behind me trying to figure out what I was taking pictures of. They too walked away shrugging their shoulders and shaking their heads.
Carol Leigh replied:
Yes! You do understand! Thanks for your story. Plus, Nadalyn, plus: this one sold yesterday, so we have at least one kindred spirit out there!

Thank you, Mary. I am entranced with photographing these things, and find it humorous when a fisherman looks at me, looks at the nets, looks back at me, and shakes his head! You've probably experienced something similar when you're photographing something other people think is strange. We must celebrate our weirdness!
