But thanks to an alert citizen and quick response from Vallejo Police, it was located a few hours later. Police say the thieves were caught in the act of torching the van. Two thieves were arrested. The van's logo wrap was damaged but the vehicle is still operational.

The girl's father died on Friday in San Francisco. Police became aware of the situation when the girl's mother, who shares custody with the father, notified them that she was informed that the father died and wanted a welfare check on her daughter at the father's Fremont home.
