NNW stops showing previews — only cure is to download a new copy

For a couple of weeks now, NNW stops showing previews and the only cure is to download a new copy, Do you really expect me to do this every single day‽

What exactly do you mean by stopping showing previews? That could mean a few things, and I’d like to be sure I understand. Would you add a screenshot? Thanks!

Again today, the preview pane was blank, no matter which article I selected. This has happened almost every day for the last week or two.

What happens if you quit and restart NetNewsWire?

What would be really great is to know what happened right when it goes blank. Is it when clicking on an article from a specific feed, for instance. Was Reader View on or off?

This isn’t a general issue. But that doesn’t mean we can’t fix it!

I usually have NNW running in the background and never see the preview pane suddenly go blank; it's just blank when I unhide or open it. After I download a fresh copy from your site, it works fine (for a while). In general, I never use Reader View. Peter

Is that pane entirely blank? Just a background color and nothing else — no text, no graphics, no nothing?

I tried that when it first happened, and it did not help, so now I just download a new copy . BTW, if I do that from the Check for updates menuItem, it doesn't work; I have to go to the website and download a new copy.

I have something like this on iPad. Yesterday I could read articles, and just now the article/preview pane stayed empty. Also when selecting other articles. Restart the app, and it is fixed. I've had this behavior two times earlier on iPad, never seen it on iPhone or Mac. I didn't try other feeds. Here is a screenshot when I started:

I use iPadOS 16.7.4 on a rather old iPad Pro (9,7 inch).

What’s the URL of the feed? Which syncing service are you using?

A bit more information. The feed is a high traffic one, so that is probably why it comes up. I think it has daily 20-40 new articles.

Also, today NNW had the same behavior. Select one article and no preview displayed. Other articles also didn't show a preview. I tried other feeds too, but they also didn't display anything.

I also checked with my iPhone, and this was weird. The feeds are differently sorted (that is not the weird part), but on the iPhone one article was missing, and this was the one article what started this behavior today.
