I am really used to doing things like navigating lists with j and k and marking things read with r and unread with u etc. I'd love the ability to customize shortcuts for quicker/easier navigation.

Per conversation on micro.blog, I think this is mostly related to j and k usage, since there are single-key shortcuts available currently.

I'd like to be able to do this as well. I like using the arrow keys. ↑ and ↓ move me between articles (or feeds if I'm focused on feeds), → moves from feeds to list of articles, or from a selected article to an in-app browser, and ← moves me back.

This makes one-handed navigation super super easy.

Thirding for this, also prefer j/k, so either custom control or the addition of those two as shortcut would be awesome.

Customizable shortcuts for navigation / mark as read / etc.. would be great. I have used Keyboard Maestro to remap, but if I use 'Alfred' to search for something while Netnewswire is the active app, the re-mappings don't de-activate. So it's really not a complete solution

but if I use 'Alfred' to search for something while Netnewswire is the active app, the

as a workaround you can use compatibility mode to let Alfred steal focus with its search panel

Launch Alfred's prefs to Appearance > Options (in the bottom left) and choose Focusing: Compatibility mode which makes Alfred behave like an app taking focus.

Though, of course, these papercuts are precisely why keyboard remapping should be fully supported by the app itself. The main reason why such remappings are not a solution is simply because then you can't type in search boxes because remappings have unfortunately no visibility into whether you're in a text field or not
