For 20 years the cultural catalysts at globalFEST have been opening minds and hearts to unexpected musical discoveries at their annual festival. globalFEST’s multi-stage event returns to Lincoln Center for a full-campus takeover, spread across Damrosch Park, Hearst Plaza, and Josie Robertson Plaza, giving audiences a ticket to travel around the world in a day.

Featured artists include Alsarah and Nubatones who perform East-African retro-pop; Cuban artist La Dame Blanche who mix Hip-Hop, dancehall, and catchy beats; Zimbabwe's Mokoomba, an infectious high-energy blend of rock, funk and Afrobeat; Cayman Islands fiddle-based Swanky Kitchen Band with the great fiddler and banjo player Jake Blount; Latin GRAMMY-winning Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto from Colombia’s Caribbean coast; a full slate of performances curated by Brooklyn Maqam with sets from Taktouka Band combining Arab folk music with electronics and western jazz; Iraqi singer Zahra Alzubaidi, who performs a variety of Arabic styles and composer and kanun player Firas Zreik known for revolutionizing his instrument.
