Synopsis for "Earth Give Up Your Dead (Part 1 of 3)"

Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Psylocke are fighting Selene’s force of resurrected mutants when Blindfold wanders onto the battlefield. She tells Cyclops she has answers to questions he hasn’t asked yet and asks for a quiet place to talk. Cyclops asks the Cuckoos to take him and Ruth into the mindspace, where she tells him that Destiny visited her in a dream and gave her a message: their enemies - “the queen” and “the cancer” - are on Genosha and Muir Island. Ruth says she has to stare into the face of “the monster” on Muir Island, but doesn’t know what that face looks like. Ruth asks Scott what he knows about her past, but he can’t tell her much before they return to the real world.

Within the dungeons of the palace on Selene’s Necrosha, Destiny convinces a young resurrected mutant to free her in exchange for his fortune. Sometime later, Mortis brings the young man before Selene. He had freed Destiny and was found trying to hang himself. Selene elects not to pursue Destiny, having no more need of her, as an unconscious Warpath is dragged in front of her.

Nightcrawler leads an away team - Colossus, Magneto, Psylocke, Blindfold, Rogue, Trance, and Husk - to Muir Island. During the flight, Magneto tries unsuccessfully to reconnect with Rogue while Nightcrawler briefs the team on their mission. When they land, Nightcrawler and Trance scout ahead for any traps while Psylocke scans the island for psychic signatures. Betty reveals to Colossus that she has retained some of her telekinetic abilities, much to Piotr’s delight.

The team storms Moira MacTaggert’s lab but finds it empty. Blindfold struggles to decipher Destiny’s message and identify the threat facing them, then receives a shock of energy when Colossus lays his hand on her shoulder. She runs away and Rogue follows to try and calm her down. Husk begins to wonder if Destiny and Blindfold are lying to them.

Blindfold continues to get flashes as she touches the walls of the lab, then hears a disembodied voice telling her not to “ruin the surprise”. Destiny suddenly appears in front of her and says “he” used her to bring the X-Men here, that the warning she delivered to Ruth “was part of his plan”. Blindfold grabs Destiny’s hand and is overcome with pink energy. Rogue enters the room and sees only Blindfold. However, when the walls around them distort and steel beams extend and envelop Rogue, it becomes clear that Blindfold has been possessed by none other than Proteus.

Join Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, Rogue (if she makes it through #230 alive) and a new member (who’s so secret we can’t mention him here) as they dive into NECROSHA. Part 1 (of 3)
