Who Is Enid Bianca Xavier Tyler on Wednesday? Nevermore Students - Netflix Tudum

When the young adult cast of Wednesday arrived in Romania in 2021 to film the spooky series, they simply had to “get into it,” according to Hunter Doohan, who plays boy-next-door Tyler. Everyone had done their chemistry reads and the group chat was popping. The time to unspool the tale of Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) — a tale of killer monsters and teenage drama — was nigh.

“We went through this whole month of training that felt like summer camp, and that’s how we became friends,” Doohan’s co-star Percy Hynes White tells Tudum. The experience made the group “bond really quickly,” says Doohan, because “you get out there and you’re like, ‘Oh wow. I know nobody.’ ”
What followed was over six months of magic-making, both literal and figurative, as the Wednesday cast settled into Nevermore Academy, the supernatural school at the center of the series. So who are the characters they brought to life? And what secrets might they be hiding? Well, this cast is ready to spill.
Who is Wednesday’s roommate, Enid Sinclair?
It’s hard being a “late bloomer,” as Emma Myers calls her werewolf character. Enid hails from an elitist San Francisco werewolf family who are concerned that she hasn’t “wolfed out” yet. “Throughout the first part of the season, Enid is definitely wallowing because she feels bad about it,” Myers tells Tudum. At least she has extracurriculars like the Poe Cup competition and a love life that keeps her busy.
And, keep your eyes peeled for Enid to step into the spotlight –– or should we say moonlight –– before Season 1 is over. “It was really nice for Enid to get her moment to finally shine,” Myers teases. Loyal Enid is definitely someone you want on your team.
Who is Bianca Barclay?
“The shit,” to quote Joy Sunday. Bianca is also the queen of the Nevermore social hierarchy, and a siren who came to the academy to escape her sketchy mother. Her perfect world is turned upside down when Wednesday arrives at Nevermore and starts attracting all the attention that usually went to her. Unsurprisingly, she isn’t a fan.
“Bianca seems like the villain, but they say the best way to play a villain is to understand them and justify them,” Sunday says. “In a lot of ways she’s guarding herself.” Bianca is also guarding everyone around her by wearing a necklace that dampens her siren abilities. Sirens have supreme powers of persuasion, although as Sunday reflects, “Bianca is pretty powerful and sometimes, as she says, it’s not really that useful.”
It does seem particularly painful to never know if your loved ones are ever telling the truth — or are simply being pulled towards your desires.
Who is Xavier Thorpe?
Someone who “likes to play it cool and mysterious,” according to Hynes White. Xavier has the ultimate moody heartthrob supernatural ability: as a psychic painter, his art literally comes to life. (Do Revenge’s Russ (Rish Shah) wishes.)
“Xavier also has this sense of entitlement, he just always has gotten everything he wanted,” Hynes White continues. That is, until Wednesday enters the picture — she couldn’t be less impressed by his emo vibes and celebrity psychic dad. Although Wednesday “comes along and takes the wind out of Xavier’s sails,” he can’t help but want to be a part of her life.
Who is Tyler Galpin?
A “complicated guy,” as Doohan calls him — and quite the barista. Townie Tyler has a tense history with the boarding school students of Nevermore, although he’s trying to turn over a new leaf these days. “He’s got a past with Xavier and a horrible relationship with his dad,” Doohan continues. “He’s in a real dark spot in his life when we first meet him.”
Wednesday is the “light” that helps distract him. “She’s something to focus on because they both want to get out of this town,” Doohan says. “Then he learns that his dad has this history [with the Addams] family. So anyone his dad hates automatically gets points in his book.” Only time will tell the fate of these Romeo and Juliet–style star-crossed lovers.
Who is Wednesday Addams?
The teen girl and amateur detective who brings everyone together, of course. “Everyone wishes that they could be a bit more like Wednesday: A bit more bold, someone who’s always so sure of themselves,” Ortega says. Although Wednesday is proud to be Wednesday, she’s also dealing with “that uncertainty of teenage hormones” and creating an independent life at Nevermore outside of her kooky family. A hunt for the monster plaguing her school may be just what Wednesday needs for everything to snap into place at her new home.
Naturally, Ortega cracked the case before the writers explained the mystery to her. “I don’t know, I read a lot of scripts, I guess,” she jokes.
