Liza Esquibias is a News Writer at PEOPLE.
She graduated from Pepperdine University with a journalism major in April 2024.
Liza previously has experience producing and reporting on the local Malibu news and was the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Editor of the student-run media at Pepperdine. She also was the editor of the newspaper's newsletter, multimedia producer and Editor-In-Chief at the school's Currents Magazine.

Liza Esquibias started working for PEOPLE as an intern from May 2023 until May 2024. She began her role at News Writer in June 2024. She previously interned at a marketing agency working in research analytics and multicultural marketing strategies for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team.

In her four years at Pepperdine, Liza gained experience in audience engagement and social media marketing. She knows both broadcast and print journalism and has experience in newspaper and magazine writing and editing.
