Bindi Irwin Pens Debut Kids Book About Conservation: ‘Thrilled to Share My Passion for Wildlife’ (Exclusive)

Bindi Irwin is sharing the importance of wildlife conversation with a new audience.

The conservationist, 25, will publish her debut children’s book in early 2025. You Are a Wildlife Warrior!: Saving Animals and the Planet is forthcoming from Random House Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books.

In her new book, Irwin, the daughter of late conservationist and The Crocodile Hunter personality Steve Irwin, is teaching an important lesson about preserving the planet and its creatures, per the book’s description. Featuring illustrations from Ramona Kaulitzki, the book will whisk readers to the Australia Zoo to meet its many animal residents — including lemurs, rhinos, kangaroos and crocodiles — and learn more about their habitats and how to protect them.

You Are a Wildlife Warrior!, which also features fun animal facts and exclusive Irwin family photos, continues to support Irwin’s mission of animal protection and conservation.

“I’m thrilled to share my passion for wildlife and conservation with soon-to-be Wildlife Warriors of all ages,” Irwin tells PEOPLE. “It’s so important to love animals and remember that we can all work together to protect their homes and habitats."

Irwin, who shares daughter Grace, 3, with her husband Chandler Powell, also says that the book is particularly important to her because it ensures her message of nature conservation reaches a new group of young readers.

"This generation of children holds the key to a brighter future for our planet, and I hope my book inspires them to appreciate the environment and strive to keep our world a safe and happy place for all creatures," she says. “Sharing my book with Grace, and now the world, is one of the biggest and most meaningful moments of my entire life."
