Heart's Ann Wilson Reveals She’s 'Feeling Great' After Cancer Operation, Will Undergo Preventative Chemotherapy

Heart rocker Ann Wilson says she's "feeling great" after revealing she recently underwent an operation following a cancer diagnosis

On Tuesday, July 2, the musician, 74, reassured fans in an Instagram post that her surgery "was successful."

"I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I've decided to do it," Ann wrote in the post.

"And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover," the "Barracuda” singer continued, revealing Heart’s Royal Flush Tour, originally set to kick-off in Cleveland on Tuesday, July 30 and run through December, would be postponed.

“To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs," Ann said. "Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.”

She then shared her gratitude to fans for their support and said she'd be back onstage soon.

“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing,” Ann concluded. “Love, Ann Wilson. Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.”

On Heart's official Instagram page, the band shared the statement: "More information to be announced in the coming weeks."

Recently, Ann and her sister Nancy, 70, had announced the cancellation of several June and July European concerts due to health concerns.

At the time, they said that Ann needed a "time-sensitive but routine medical procedure” that required at least six weeks of recovery.

Ann reassured fans at the time that she was "okay."

"Please don’t worry,” the "Never" performer wrote on the platform, adding that she was sorry "for any inconvenience this may cause."

In April and late May, Heart last performed a string of North American concerts.

Heart reunited in 2019 after a three-year hiatus, and celebrated 50 years as a group in 2023. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
