Krispy Kreme Has $1 Dozen Donuts on Thursday and Half-Off Dozens Leading Up to the Summer Solstice

The longest day of the year means more time to eat donuts.

Krispy Kreme is celebrating the first day of summer and longest day of the year (Thursday, June 20) with four days of deals.

To kick off the week, customers can score a half-priced dozen of original glazed donuts. From Monday, June 17, through Wednesday, June 19, the donut chain is handing out half-off treats from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. leading up to the actual day of the summer solstice. Fans can score the deal in person or online with the code HOTNOW.

On Thursday, June 20, cleverly coined the “Hot Light-est” day in reference to the shop's neon sign, Krispy Kreme is taking the discount up a notch. Fans can buy any dozen donuts and then get a dozen glazed donuts for $1 all day when ordering in stores or online with the code SUMMER.

A spokesperson for the brand also reveals that Krispy Kreme will randomly select guests to receive a free glazed dozen on Thursday.

For the four days of deals, there is a limit of two dozen donuts when ordering in stores and a limit of one dozen donuts when ordering online.

Krispy Kreme recently introduced a new assortment of donut dots, which are similar to donut holes or munchkin donuts. Four new flavors joined the original glazed dots on the permanent Krispy Kreme menu: powdered, cinnamon, sprinkled and cookie crumb flavors. All use an original glazed dot as a base.

The new assorted donut holes are available to purchase in 10-count or 24-count cups.

Kroger is also honoring the start of summer with a sweet deal.

The grocery store chain is giving away 45,000 pints of free ice cream for all 15 hours of sunshine on Thursday, June 20. 

In order to redeem the offer, you will need to head to FreeKrogerIceCream.com and download a digital coupon. Each voucher, which will be good for one pint of Kroger brand ice cream, can only be downloaded on June 20.
