Wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family escaped a scary situation recently when a fire broke out at their home in Nashville.

On Wednesday, June 26, Aiyda Cobb, Randall’s wife, posted to her Instagram Stories that a Tesla charger "caught fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread" to the home she shares with Randall, 33, and the couple’s three young children, according to ESPN.

"We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet," Aiyda added.

The garage fire occurred on Tuesday, June 25. When firefighters arrived at the home, they found flames coming from the garage, the Nashville Fire Department told local news outlet WSMV. Crews put out the fire, but it damaged the contents of the garage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries were reported, per WSMV.

The NFL star and his wife also released a joint statement about the ordeal on Instagram, in which they also thanked the Nashville Fire Department for their help.

“We got out of the house and I was able to go back in and get our dog, Louie. We can’t thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action,” the post read.

"I can't get the image of the brave firefighter getting into position out of my head; he didn't even have water to shoot yet. I truly thought the cars were going to explode and that we would lose him to this tragedy. He is a true hero,” the post continued.

The post was included alongside a set of images showing the significant damage the fire caused to the couple’s cars and other personal property.

Cobb and Aiyda said they were not sure if they could salvage anything from their home.

“Unfortunately we don't know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family,” they wrote.

Cobb and his wife married in 2017 and are parents to three sons.

Cobb played for the New York Jets last season and is now a free agent. He began his career with the Green Bay Packers in 2011, where he played until 2018. Cobb also played with the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans before another brief stint with the Packers in 2021 and 2022.
