Here's What Pluto Retrograde Means for You, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

After dealing with the aftermath of Mercury retrograde, Pluto retrograde is coming to mess with your plans. 

The upcoming event will commence on May 2 and last until Oct. 11. Though Pluto will start its retrograde in Aquarius, it will go back into Capricorn from Sept. 1 to Nov. 19, before moving into Aquarius again.

According to astrologer and bestselling author Lisa Stardust, many people have Pluto retrograde in their birth charts as it “always occurs for several months a year.” Stardust adds that Pluto retrograde represents a “time in which we are making sure that we are on the right path and making the changes that are needed.”

“Pluto likes to break down the past in order to re-create a more modified and better way of being. These growing pains may sting but it's important to allow change to happen the more we resist the harder it will be,” Stardust says, adding that during this time, we’ll be delving deeper “into our subconscious, which will bring insights and allow us to transfer and evolve where necessary.” 

Here’s how Pluto retrograde will affect you, based on your zodiac sign, according to Stardust’s readings. 

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Aries, this cosmic event will test your friendships. Stardust says Aries “may find that people they were close with are pulling away from them.” Don’t fret though, as Stardust suggests this will give you “the ascent to work harder to make more substantial commitments” to those you love.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Taurus, prepare for some shifts in your work. Stardust says you might see your career path take a “new direction" or materially change priorities. “As long as [Tauruses] can accept the new and let go of their old ways of being, they will have major growth in their professional life,” Stardust suggests. 

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Get out of your comfort zone, Gemini! Stardust says that “finding an activity that speaks to [your] heart” will allow you to “change [your] philosophy” and move forward in the right direction. “They may also consider travel or take a class to evoke their spirit,” Stardust adds. 

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

According to Stardust, Cancer signs “are going to feel more intuitive in the months ahead,” noting that “their premonitions could lead to significant emotional advances as well as the ability of foresight.” Stardust suggests you use this time to “learn” and “trust” your innermost feelings, which will ultimately help you “avoid unruly situations.” 

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Brace yourself, Leo. Stardust says “Pluto's retrograde is going to bring out a lot of intense elements in relationships,” including “power struggles and jealousies.” By the end of Pluto’s retrograde, you’ll likely find yourself assessing whether or not you want to “carry these personal connections” with you in the future. 

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Are the vibes off at your workplace, Virgo? Stardust suggests you use this pivotal time to stand your ground and “confront those who were aiming to compete with [you] professionally.” Stardust adds that as you work with others, lean into being more trusting and transparent. 

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Lean on others to find that creative spark, Libra. Instead of looking inward, Stardust suggests you look “outwards for motivation,” including “finding a muse” that inspires you and evokes your passion.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Scorpios, set aside some time for family during this season. If you’ve been dealing with persistent family issues lately, Stardust suggests you use this time “to heal past traumas and wounds with [your] brood.” Stardust adds this will require you to “own up” to your own part in the “complex family situation” as you “address matters with others.” 

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)

Choose your words carefully, Sagittarius. When you express yourself, it may come across as “too blunt or harsh," so Stardust suggests you take “a step back” and find “the right words” so that you can connect with your loved ones. 

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Capricorn, this time is all about the green as Stardust says you’ll be “looking for financial advice” and discovering new ways to invest. “They may find that getting advice benefits them (even though they might ignore it at first), which is why they should listen to what they're being told in order to boost their portfolio,” Stardust adds. 

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

A big change is coming, Aquarius. While this sign is usually all for evolving and transforming “with the times,” Stardust notes that they might find they have “a lot on their plate as they look to the past in order to augment the present and future.” 

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Dream big, Pisces. According to Stardust, you may experience dreams that are “very potent” during this season. Stardust suggests doing a dream journal every morning to keep track of their nightly visions, which Stardust says “will hold meaning and significance as they will prove to illuminate matters that the water sign has been putting on the back burner.”
