Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei is tying the knot!

The Sultan of Brunei’s son's wedding to Anisha Isa Kalebic officially began over the weekend in what is the first royal wedding of 2024.

The wedding celebrations are set to last 10 days. On Sunday, a pre-wedding ceremony known as Khatam Quran took place. Anisha sported her first bridal look, shared on Instagram by designer Teh Firdaus with photos by Muash Rosman.

"Honored to play a role in the Brunei royal wedding," the designer captioned the images. "Witness the grace of Yang Mulia Dayang Anisha Rosnah Adam Isa Kalebic in our custom-made baju kurung in intricately woven tenunan Brunei, as she embraces elegance during her Khatam Quran event."

Rosman also shared new photos on Wednesday of Anisha wearing another elegant bridal look, a long-sleeved white dress with a coordinating veil also by Teh Firdaus, during the Berbedak Mandi ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman.

"HRH Prince ‘Abdul Mateen and YM Dayang Anisha Rosnah binti Adam were bathed in blessings by their nearest and dearest. Parents, siblings, and venerable elders graced this momentous occasion, enveloping the soon-to-be-wedded pair in an aura of glamour and tradition," the photographer captioned the images from the event on Instagram.

Instead of bridal white, Anisha opted for a red ensemble and an elaborate headpiece at her powdering ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman on Jan. 10.

The celebration comes shortly after Prince Mateen, 32, posted the first portrait with his fiancée, where Anisha wore a white blazer and displayed her dazzling diamond ring.

“Wishing you all the best for 2024 💫,” he captioned the snap for his 2.4 million Instagram followers.

The couple will exchange vows on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and be fêted at a royal banquet on Jan. 14 with a global guest list. Hello! speculated that Prince William and Kate Middleton might make an appearance at the event, as the Sultan attended their royal wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011.

Prince Mateen is the fourth son and 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and often accompanies his father on official royal engagements. The sultan and his son attended the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022 and returned to London for the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla in May 2023. The following month, they traveled to Jordan for the royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, which the Prince and Princess of Wales also attended.

Prince Mateen and Anisha have reportedly been dating for a few years, and the Sultan announced their engagement in October 2023. The bride is the granddaughter of the Sultan's special advisor, Pehin Dato Isa, and the groom is a helicopter pilot and major in the Royal Brunei Air Force, according to UAE newspaper The National.
