Ryan Gosling's daughters have just as much Kenergy as their dad.

While appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, April 11, the actor, 43, shared that his daughters Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7, whom he shares with longtime partner Eva Mendes, 50, were on set for a lot of the filming of Barbie.

"It was their interest in Barbie and their disinterest in Ken that sort of started all of this," Gosling shared on the show.

"It's really been a team effort. And they were on the film and they came to set when I filmed the number," the dad of two said, referring to the movie's Oscar-nominated song "I'm Just Ken."

"A lot of this has no context for them, you know? It's just like a lot of fake tan stains around the house," he joked, also noting that his daughters came to see his performance at the 2024 Oscars. "So I wanted them to come to the dress rehearsal just to give it some kind of context for what had been going on."

"They knew all the choreography better than I do, the songs," he continued, imitating his daughters' dancing. "They're backstage showing me."

In March, Gosling spoke exclusively to PEOPLE at the world premiere of The Fall Guy at SXSW in Austin and opened up about how he got some crucial advice from his family ahead of the Oscars.

"It was great," the Barbie star told PEOPLE. "It was so fun because they came to the dress rehearsal the day before and so they were in the front row. "

"They gave me some tips and some notes, all great notes," he continued.

Following his epic performance in February, Mendes posted an Instagram photo in support of her partner.

The selfie showed the actress in a pink blazer and a black cowboy hat and had the caption, “You took Ken all the way to the Oscar’s, RG. Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed. 💋."
