Order Mail Transport Equipment (MTEOR)

The Mail Transport Equipment Ordering System (MTEOR) provides a fast, reliable, and convenient place for Mailers to request mail transport equipment (MTE) directly from a Postal Plant or a MTESC. Mailers who request at least one pallet (approximately 100 pieces) of stacked trays, tubs, sacks or sleeves, any quantity of plastic pallets, or rolling stock from a Postal plant should use MTEOR.

How to Register for MTEOR

New Mailers can register online for MTEOR through the Business Customer Gateway and adding MTEOR as a service. To register on the Business Customer Gateway, users should go to https://gateway.usps.com. Once on the site click "Register for free".

Requesting MTE from a Postal Plant

Mailers can request MTE from their local Postal Plant by logging into MTEOR through the Business Customer Gateway. Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found in the Request Guides.

Local Mailers can also create standing requests in MTEOR. Review the updatedRequest Manual to get more information on this new functionality.

Note: You MUST print the request details page for your request in MTEOR to pick up your requested MTE from the Postal Plant.

MTEOR does not impact existing transportation agreements. If you already have plant load agreements with your local P&DC, you may still request your MTE be delivered from Postal Plants through MTEOR.

Ordering MTE from an MTESC

For MTESC Mailers, please see Order Guides for ordering instructions. MTESC Mailers are encouraged to order MTE directly from an MTESC, but can also request MTE from a Postal Plant if they are willing to pick up the MTE themselves and the MTESC cannot fulfill their demand.

Postal and business customers are reminded to always order trays & sleeves in like quantities (pieces not pallets) per the following formula:

  • 1 pallet of MM & Half tray sleeves = 3 pallets of MM & Half trays
  • 1 pallet of EMM sleeves = 5 pallets of EMM trays
  • 1 pallet of Flat Tub lids = 14 pallets of Flat Tubs

Those ordering MTE are also reminded to continue to place equipment orders just-in-time based on production; and to please contact your BSN to return MTE that is in excess to your needs.

The MTEOR Terms and Conditions states that all MTEOR users are required to complete their inventory reports on a weekly basis by Wednesday at 11:59 PM local time.

If you have not completed your report for this week, visit the Business Customer Gateway at https://gateway.usps.com/eAdmin/view/signin to access MTEOR and complete your report.

MTEOR User Agreement: BSA Agreement

This Agreement entered into between the United States Postal Service®, and its agents, including the Postal Service Office of Inspector General and the United States Postal Service Inspection Service ("Postal Service" or "USPS") and eachcompany desiring participationin and use of the Postal Service MTEOR system to request the loan of Mail Transport Equipment (MTE), hereinafter “Company”. What is MTAC User Group 007?

Who are we?

This group brings together MTEOR users to identify and recommend opportunities for future enhancements to Phase 1 MTEOR-Mailer. As a part of this working group, members are responsible for:

  • Gaining an understanding of any MTEOR program constraints and ease of use issues from the user perspective.
  • Recommending future enhancement initiatives for the MTEOR program that will improve the user experience, including communications, ease of use, and reporting.
  • Reviewing and building upon the recommendations from MTAC Work Group #153: "Mailer MTE Inventory Tracking and Reporting Process".
