The following events took place in the year 9 BBY,[12] also known as 3268 LY according to the Lothal Calendar[10] and year 7968 in the C.R.C. calendar.[9]
Events[]
- The Death Star is moved to Scarif.[13]
- To cover up the existence of the Death Star, the Galactic Empire launches the sterilization of Geonosis,[13] bringing its multi–year occupation to an end. (Approximate date)[6]
- The Inquisitors' hunt for Obi-Wan Kenobi kicks off after ten years of no progress.[1]
- Young Leia Organa is taken hostage in a plot created by Reva Sevander, the Third Sister, to find Obi-Wan Kenobi.[1] Her goal is to draw Kenobi out to get closer to the Sith Lord Darth Vader and kill him to avenge her fellow Jedi Initiates, whom Vader slew during the Siege of the Jedi Temple.[14]
- Kenobi regains his Force connection while rescuing Organa on the planet Daiyu and learns from the Third Sister that Vader is alive.[15]
- Vader finds and pursues Kenobi on the planet Mapuzo. However, before Vader can exact revenge on his former Jedi Master, Kenobi is escorted to safety by members of the Hidden Path. At the same time, Organa is captured by the Third Sister[16] and brought to the Fortress Inquisitorius on the moon of Nur.[2]
- Kenobi and members of the Path successfully retrieve Organa from Nur, but the Third Sister hides a homing beacon[2] on Organa's toy droid L0-LA59 "Lola," leading the Empire to the Path's base on Jabiim.[2]
- Despite the Empire launching an all-out attack on Jabiim, Kenobi's knowledge of Vader's tactics and the Third Sister's treason ensure the Path can escape. Vader impales the Third Sister with her own lightsaber and leaves her for dead[14] to continue the hunt for Kenobi.[7]
- Alerted to the existence of Luke Skywalker by an imagecaster left on Jabiim,[14] Reva travels to Tatooine to kill Vader's son.[7]
- Vader and Kenobi engage in a lightsaber duel on a barren moon, which Kenobi ultimately wins. When Vader declares it was he who "killed" Anakin Skywalker, Kenobi believes his old friend is dead and departs the moon.[7]
- After fighting past Beru and Owen Lars, Reva is unable to strike Luke down after cornering him in Beggar's Canyon and returns him safely. Kenobi, who flew straight to Tatooine after sensing Skywalker was in trouble, assures Reva that she honored her friends by not giving in to the dark side and encourages her to take a new path forward.[7]
- Organa is returned home to Alderaan and reunites with Kenobi, who urges her to keep their connection a secret.[7]
- Kenobi formally meets Luke Skywalker for the first time and reunites with the Force spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn.[7]
- Cal Kestis and his crew locates the planet Tanalorr, hidden in the Koboh Abyss.
- The majority of Kestis' crew is killed during the mission on Coruscant.[3]
- Kestis crashes the Mantis on the Outer Rim planet Koboh, reuniting with his old friend, Greez Dritus, in an effort to repair the Mantis.[3]
- Dagan Gera awakens on Koboh and turns to the dark side, teaming up with the Bedlam Raiders.
- Kestis reunites the crew of the Mantis - Dritus, Cere Junda, and Merrin - as well as Master Eno Cordova. He discovers the Hidden Path, and begins to consider the prospect of using Tanalorr as a safe haven for the Path.[3]
- Rayvis, a Gen'Dai member of the Bedlam Raiders, is killed by Kestis on the Shattered Moon of Koboh.
- Gera is killed by Kestis and Bode Akuna on Koboh.
- Bode gives the location of the Hidden Path on Jedha to the Empire and kills Eno Cordova.
- Cere Junda is killed by Darth Vader on Jedha.
- Bode and his daughter escape to Tanalorr and are followed by Kestis and Merrin, where Bode is killed in combat.
- Miara Larte is promoted to the rank of captain at a ceremony on Alderaan.[17][18]
- 4-LOM and Zuckuss attempt to capture Han Solo and Chewbacca,[19] before crashing onto a planet full of scorpion-droids.[20]
