I for one am so happy that I had my cable TV disconnected last fall when all this strike BS started. Don’t these people know that they may never make back the money they lost by being on strike? Idiots as far as I’m, concerned.
You realize that a lot of the strike issues were related to streaming residuals, right? And that most of the network, streamer and studio heads were against it? And that a lot of it was to benefit the small writers and actors trying to survive in a world where income inequality has been increasing too much in general across varies industries?My instincts say you are exactly what you called others.
I hope that SWAT and Blue Bloods can come back to TV. I love watching these two shows on Fridays. Please renew these two shows until the cast is ready to leave. I hate loosing thee two shows on Friday. Love the cast from both shows.

What was cast decided? In every interview with the main cast of Blue Bloods they say they want to continue and it’s a CBS decision.

They don’t want the show to end. But they don’t want to take less money. SWAT’s renewal IS NOT WHAT PEOPLE THINK IT IS. The older cast members that were written out this year won’t be back unless they take significant pay cuts. Ditto Blue Bloods. I think that IF they either trim the cast or the cast takes pay cuts (Tom Selleck gets his on the back end, and the rest can and will starve as far as he is concerned before HIS money is impacted), then BB will be back.

I think BB played chicken with CBS, and CBS didn’t blink. CBS has given the show/cast this long runway down to the finale. Most of that cast will never get as good a job. TS can and will get more work if he so chooses, but he’s got so much money at this point that, why bother? I think TS would keep doing this if given his druthers. But the rest of the cast has ample time to decide that, “hey, making 70ish % of what I’m currently making is OK.” They’d like raises. But if they are making 75ish K per ep (this number includes residuals), they have time to realize that 50is K per ep is FINE. Ensemble shows are nice, because no single character is in every or even most scenes in every ep. Like, Castle was in nearly every scene on that show. Ditto Beckett. Ditto James Roday in Psyche. But this cast can do the show without being in every single scene. I mean, 50K per ep, over 20ish eps, is a million dollars. Yeah, they’d rather get 2 or 3 million per year (what they are currently getting, or a modest raise). And the cast dared CBS to cancel the show. CBS obliged. Suddenly, 1 million looks a lot better, especially compared to ZERO dollars. Maybe some of them get new gigs. I mean, that guy left SEAL Team, and now he’s the producer and star of what looks like a FRANCHISE. That guy bet on himself and will probably make 150 million dollars as a result. But lots of other folks have pulled similar moves, and never again had a steady job in the industry. They go from making several hundred thousand dollars a year to making 150k (still good, but 20 % of what they used to make) doing tv movies that shoot in Canada. Their old gig was cushy, the new one is not nearly so nice.
You are right with this post, hence the theatre engagements of the so called ensemble cast. As an actor with some money backup all this years you should be lucky.
Blue Bloods was cancelled by CBS due to cost. Cast took pay cut to keep the show going. Cast did not ask to end it. CBS is just being contrary to cast AND fans desires to keep show going. Very inconsiderable on part of CBS. Unfortunately similar to other decisions by networks!!!!!!
Blue Bloods is great show. If CBS doesn’t renew it they are fools. If it is replaced by another reality or game show I will throw my TV away. Guess I’ll have to go buy some books for entertainment. TV programming just gets worse and worse because networks keep trying to cut cost. Maybe the network big shots should take a paycut.

Absolutely accurate in my opinion. CBS has made just ignorant decisions by canelling Blue Bloods, So Help Me Todd, and NCIS Hawaii. Many if not all of Blue Bloods cast want to continue and many many many fans feel the same way.

Swat is done lucky enough to have had this season, I like Swat for the action but the writing has just gotten horrible it’s very corny.

Have we heard if they are filming any extra? I know other shows have done that when a star is pregnant – banked at least a couple extra episodes for fall so it can premiere on time. I’m not entirely sure of Rose’s due date and how it aligns with the production schedule, but I was just curious. They found a brilliant way to give Sheila/Flower some maternity time, but the show doesn’t work without Rose/Samantha! Granted the last episode did show it could work with limited Sam, but definitely nothing too long away from the ghosts.
Basically every show has only 10-13 episodes for this season.
The exceptions to that are “Young Sheldon” and “Abbott Elementary,” both of which have 14 episodes (two episodes of “Abbott” were broadcast as a hour-long season premiere, and “Young Sheldon”‘s series finale is composed of two episodes).

Me too. Much to my surprise, I am really liking this show. It is sort of a modern day “Murder She Wrote”. Carrie Preston is delightful.

I knew those basketball preemptions was gonna screw up my Paramount sub. My last day is May 10th, one week from the finale’s of SWAT, Fire Country and Blue Bloods. I’ll just watch them live. After they’re done I have no need for the app until the Yellowstone stuff starts up again, whenever that is.

I can’t believe they are not taking off Grey’s Anotomony off. Been on way to long and it is getting too old. It used to be good but only for so long. I think they are taking so many good shows that are so much better than this one!
ABC has yet to announce finale dates for this season. Same with the other networks (bar CBS, which is the focus of this article).

It’s not 6. More like 10-13 for most of them.
The weeks with preemptions would not have had new episodes anyway, or if they did, they would not have made the seasons longer. They just would have ended sooner. This is true every year. Basketball and the State of the Union do not determine season lengths.
CBS has had the NCAA tournament at that time of the year for about the last forty years. It’s not some new intrusion on the schedule. And the one night a year for the State of the Union has been televised since Harry Truman in 1947.

There’s are some shows that I think needs to be gone but there’s are shows that needs to stay on but I know it’s all about the money I know there are some people gets mad when they set the DVR for a show that they want to watch but a football game or golf and basketball games runs overtime and they messed the show Ithatttowatchhate that people wantt ed to watch but mess half of the show because a run over so renewal All the shows

I just Love Elsbeth and Tracker. Elsbeth is smart and funny! Tracker is smart and intelligent. Both have, so far, great story lines.
Exactly, especially if they’re not low in ratings. All of the final shows are big winners in my eyes. Now what to watch on those nights. I LOVE ALL OF THEM. FIRST it was NCIS LA, NCIS New Orleans, now the others as well. Swat a big fav of mine, Tracker,another new one, it’s great ! Please don’t take these shows away from their fans…they’re LOVED.
I agree! My mom & I have our quality time together watching ALL these & we LOVE them! But what ticks me off is that Fire Country & Tracker are 2 of the newest ones & WE LOVE BOTH of those but my mom & I watch all 3 of the FBI’s, SWAT {1 of our favorites & was so upset how they did Luca & Street}; Blue Bloods, NCIS (original, New Orleans til they ended that which SUCKED they cancelled that one – Hawaii {which we love} & even started watching the NEW one in Sydney but aggravated only 6 episodes in & they’re what on a hiatus now); Ghosts (another newer one – my mom & I both laugh so hard when watching this one most episodes- but why not take the damn Ghosts UK off instead, sorry NO offense meant to anyone in the UK or to those actors but to have the original Ghosts on for just a short time, then add the Ghosts UK but turn around & cancel the original Ghosts)! So we are so pi$$ed they are taking off all of our favorite shows which leaves us w/now having a clue what we’re going to watch now!! WHOM ever is in charge of canceling these shows NEEDS TO PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR AUDIENCES!! I could probably assume that at least the shows I mentioned above have some pretty damn good ratings!
