Final Airdate: TBD
Reason for Exit: Our sister site Deadline suggests that Grey’s Anatomy’s Season 21 renewal was predicated on budget cuts — cuts that may have taken a scalpel to the groundbreaking character that Borelli had played for the past seven seasons. (Back in Season 15, Levi’s kiss with Alex Landi’s Nico Kim was the first between two male doctors at the hospital.)
How He Left: Given Schmitt’s keen interest in a peds fellowship, he is likely to depart from Grey Sloan and Seattle to pursue that goal. But we won’t find out for sure until Season 21; Borelli is reportedly in negotiations to continue on until Levi’s story can be sutured up.
I really don’t understand the folks that bemoan about the show needing to end. Obviously, it still has an audience if it’s still going. Just ignore the show and move on the if it’s no longer your cup of tea.
Levi died so he will not be back
No, he did not die; I think you’re confusing him with the doctor from The Good Doctor who was killed by an antisemitic mugger (the two actors look a lot alike, and both played gay surgeons).
TERRIBLY… They always seemed to care more about victimizing the remaining and villainizing the exiting other than honoring the departed.
Only Best Exit is Cristina. I think that was a FLAKE.
Most Worse Exit: Alex who could still have the same ending and his growth if they were interested in celebrating the character of 16 seasons but they were interested in victimizing Jo for sympathy to the character. Basically the whole episode was recycling to old stories poor Jo , Meredith losing someone, Bailey and webber being bitter for another intern leaving to follow their dream. THEY COULD DONE BETTER.
If the actor wasn’t willing/couldn’t shoot more episodes, how could they write Alex out while keeping Jo in the show? I cant see anything that would work or make sense. The writers had tough choices to make and no matter what fans wouldn’t have been happy.
Cristina wasn’t there after season 10 but they found a way to make her present via text or call when M won Harper Avery and had covid. Why not do the same with Alex? Had a door close and Jo alone like they had a discussion and he just left. it’d have been better than letter. A video call with Meredith. And it wouldn’t be the first time to write around an actor absence.
Every ship on greys has cracks and so Jolex relationship, they could’ve explore that using Jo and Links friendship showing hiw the marriage wasn’t as prefect as it seems ( no need for actorAlex) make the separation a mutual decision keeping Alex growth.
I did not remember that Shane hooked up with Cristina. Did that really happen?! If so, I must’ve blocked it out. I do recall Cristina making out with Jackson and I was hoping they’d have a fling but I don’t think it went past some kissing and flirting.
I stopped watching regularly after Cristina left. I still catch a few episodes per season and the show is still entertaining despite all the cast changes. I still think the show was at it’s best in season 2/3.
The way Shonda handled Isaiahgate will forever tarnish her legacy I feel. The way she prioritized trying to keep and protect Washington, instead of being an ally and defending TR publicly at all, was honestly extremely disappointing. And her retaliation against TR (after the network forced her to drop Isaiah) by marginalizing George until TR quit is an utter disgrace.
Good on Katherine Heigl for having the fortitude to complain about insane work hours, defend TR publicly when Shonda wouldn’t, and to bring public attention (by withdrawing from the Emmys) to the terrible storylines Shonda started to give her as retribution for stepping out of line.
I think this show was near perfect for the first 8 seasons but after Cristina and Derek’s exist, it’s been bland and cliche. The new interns in s19 were refreshing and fun but s20 pulled back on everything interesting and took the dull road once again. Hate to see it. Maybe these budget cuts are the beginning of the end and they will start to wrap things up by the time they get to season 25. Personally I think it’s beyond time.
Greys is one of my favorite shows. Good riddance too anyone that wants to leave. Riding with the show until the wheels fall off. I know it will not last forever but I’m one of the faithful.
I quit the show with the demise of Jackson/April Japril. it was just one of the many bad decisions this show continued to make. Greys should have ended 5-7 years ago, and definitely should have ended with Meredith leaving. Greys has overstayed its welcome.
What- no love for Doctors Adamson & Percy?
Still not over how they handled Dempsey’s exit. Quit watching the show after that.
Please don’t stop so love the series it’s Luke life as we want to know it and stars are and have always been amazing
