Paramount+ is about to strike oil: Landman, the star-studded new drama series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, will debut Sunday, Nov. 17 on the streamer with the first two episodes, TVLine has learned.
Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo) stars in the 10-episode series as Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for an oil company in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas. Jon Hamm (Mad Men) plays Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy, while Demi Moore (FEUD: Capote vs. the Swans) plays Monty’s wife Cami.
The cast also includes Ali Larter (The Rookie), Michelle Norris (1923), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), Jacob Lofland (Justified), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville) and Paulina Chávez (Fate: The Winx Saga). Andy Garcia (Rebel) and Michael Peña (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) will guest-star as well.
Based on the podcast Boomtown, Landman is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs” and “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics,” per the official synopsis.
Paramount+ has also released a series of first-look photos of the cast, which you can see below. Scroll down to get a sneak peek, and then hit the comments and tell us: Will you be watching?
Demi Moore said on Cannes that the show has been already renewed, in case you want to add that information
Maybe Sheridan should concentrate on finishing a series before starting more . He screwed up one of the best shows in year failing big on Yellowstone series
Glad you listed names as I couldn’t tell that was Demi Moore at all!
Sheridan needs to get a grip and stop working on so many shows at once. It’s already cost us Yellowstone.
No. Taylor Sheridan and his ego have lost me with his behind the scenes drama with Yellowstone. I may watch season 2 of 1923 if it ever gets completed but that’s it for me.
This is like Dallas v. 3.0.
Just “Monty’s Daughter” she doesn’t have a name?
After the way Taylor Sheridan’s ego has gotten out of control and he’s screwed up the Yellowstone universe trying to win a power struggle over Kevin Costner, I’m inclined not to watch anymore of his shows. God forbid we should compromise and be cooperative. My opinion on this stems from what I read going back to the year before it all blew up, where it was stated that Kevin Costner had already made everyone aware of his other passion project coming up, so that they could all work together to plan the shooting schedules in the best way possible for everyone involved. And instead, Taylor changed the shooting schedule for Yellowstone and tried to force Kevin Costner’s hand, to choose between Yellowstone and his passion project, and Kevin didn’t give into that. People can say whatever they want about Kevin Costner. Those facts to me are unacceptable. There’s no reason they couldn’t have worked it out way in advance. One person chose to try to work as a team, and the other chose to be a dictator. And now here we are with season 5 coming back without the patriarch of the family, not to mention when he sued Cole Hauser for his coffee brand logo being too similar to Taylor. Dude is on a power trip. What happened to using good communication skills? I can’t support him.
I LOVED Yellowstone! But I will NEVER watch another Taylor Sharadon series ever again!! That argent foul could have continued Yellowstone but because of his argent selfishness he ruined it for everyone.
You mean ‘Michelle Randolph (1923)’, not Norris.
As long as Taylor Sheridan is making tv shows, James Jordan will be employed.
