Summer House Season 8: How Jesse and West Have Saved the Series
Courtesy of Bravo

We expected a lot out of this season of Summer House, thanks to the behind-the-scenes drama between Carl and Lindsay. What we didn’t expect? Falling in love with two newbie, scene-stealers!

As we headed into Season 8, we already already knew that Carl and Lindsay’s breakup was caught on camera. (Lindsay shared at BravoCon that she was “blindsided,” while Carl said they’d had “a lot of ups and downs.”) So, we’ve been curious to see how everything would shake out.

But now that we’re here, knee-deep in Season 8, we can see: this was no blindside. As we watch the Carl/Lindsay relationship play out week after week, we’ve completely lost interest in the dissolution of their engagement. It’s very clear why these two didn’t work out. (Lindsay repeatedly and drunkenly accuses Carl of breaking his sobriety, dubbing him “Cocaine Carl” — and doubles down on it!)

So it would only be natural for us to lose interest in this season altogether, but luckily, there’s something else afoot here: We’re tuning in every week to see newcomers West Wilson and Jesse Solomon.

Finally, Bravo has nailed a new casting! How could two unassuming Bravo newbies captivate us so deeply, so quickly? We’re so glad you asked! Scroll down as we unpack the five major ways West and Jesse have saved this series.
