We recently caught up with Tony Koodie, Binnies' International Director of Process Engineering, about the hot topic of converting sludge and sewage into valuable bioresources. Here's what he had to say 🗣 “The evolution of converting and accepting sewage sludge (biosolids) into a valuable bioresource has been transformational within the UK water industry since the first Asset Management Plan (AMP1) in 1990. Originally only deemed a waste product with varying fertiliser properties, biosolids produced from municipal sewage sludge treatment are now universally considered a significant source of energy and trace nutrients. This journey has seen the implementation of biosolids strategies and innovative technologies and Binnies are proud to have contributed to this positive change for our clients and the environment.   Delivering biosolids assessments, feasibility studies and strategies across the UK through to design and build installation of traditional and innovative biosolids technologies and CHP plant for our clients, Binnies solutions have been underpinned with our commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.
