Today we published our Half Year Financial Results. Both Global RevPAR and operating profit* increased and we continue to grow our brands worldwide as we invest in our portfolio and the wider business to support our hotel owners - and of course - create memorable experiences for our guests.     We celebrated the opening of 126 properties, including brand debuts for Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas in Japan, voco Hotels in India and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Crete. And we signed a record-breaking 384 hotels into our pipeline – that’s more than two a day!   It’s been a busy first half of 2024…📽   *Operating profit by reportable segments 

At the heart of our hotels and hospitality, is food. It’s why at IHG Hotels & Resorts we’ve made a promise to champion initiatives that tackle hunger and food insecurity on a global and local scale. And it’s why we’re proud to today be announcing a new partnership with one of the world’s largest NGOs combatting hunger, Action Against Hunger. In 2021, our Journey to Tomorrow responsible business plan was launched with a series of pledges, including using our global reach to improve the lives of 30 million people through skills training, disaster response and food security. With an estimated one in three people globally uncertain where their next meal is coming from due to poverty, conflict, inefficient food systems and climate change, this partnership is an important and exciting moment for IHG to continue being a force for good where it’s needed most. We will be supporting Action Against Hunger’s world-renowned nutrition programmes, with a specific focus on screening initiatives designed to spot signs of malnutrition in children and provide potentially lifesaving treatment through local community outreach programmes. For our guests who want to help make a difference with us, we’re giving the option to help through the donation of IHG One Rewards points, starting today*. Switching career trajectory is never easy. 🔀 However, that's exactly what Justyna Obieglo, General Manager – Holiday Inn Warsaw City Centre, did with the support of IHG Hotels & Resorts' RISE programme. Transitioning from Revenue Management to Hotel Operations was something Justyna had always wanted to do. RISE is our internal programme, aimed primarily at female colleagues looking to grow and progress their career over the course of a 12-month programme. We’re raising a glass to women in hospitality. 🥂 As part of our Journey to Tomorrow 2030 responsible business plan, we are constantly working to achieve gender and ethnicity balance across our  leadership teams, including within our hotels. One of the ways we have retained and grown female talent within IHG Hotels & Resorts is through the creation of RISE – an initiative programme to empower our female talent in hotel operations to achieve their full potential on their journey to achieve senior leadership roles and progress within IHG. The 12-month RISE programme was launched in Australasia in 2018 to inspire confidence, broaden networks, and drive career progression for women in our hotels and since then, it’s gone global 🌎 with over 247 women graduating to date. We are firmly committed to driving gender and ethnicity balance across our leadership teams, including within our hotels and we recognise that women are still underrepresented at the highest levels of hotel leadership. There’s always more to do.
